Battery replacement 2001 740 iL
Can someone suggest the most reasonable replacement battery for my 2001 740IL? Mine has a leak in the side and the replacement prices that I have found are running about 600.
Thank you in advance for your reply. |

This is one of the easiest questions to answer due to it being one of the most asked questions.
A simple search using they words "replacement battery" should pull up thread after thread of choices. The biggest difference is price, battery case color, and length of warranty among those mfg'd by the same company. Specs will vary slightly...but the biggest variance in specs is between the battery class size. And length of battery is different based on battery class size. But length doesn't matter because your battery compartment has 3 holes for the battery hold down clamp...this allows for various battery lengths. The cliff notes:
Many choose Duralast 49DL ($100), H8 ($135), or 95 ($190) due to AutoZone being almost nationwide...and they DO honor the respective 2 yr free/5 yr pro-rated free warranty or 3 yr free/5 yr pro-rated warranty (based on which battery you purchase) and your name & car is in a national database which again helps if you need a warranty replacement battery when you're out of town. Batteries Plus (Rayovac), Advance Auto's Autocraft (49/H8/H9), Interstate's H8/H9/TP-93, Sears International DieHard, NAPA, O'Reillys, PepBoys, Walmart....all sell batteries in the 49/H8/95/H9 battery class size...just call and price check for the aforementioned battery sizes. And if you're wallet is really tapped out...check out your local Walmart...depending on your region...they may not sell the 49/H8/95/H9 class sizes...but may be off by one or two nbrs....like a 47 or 48 class size...or a 93 or 94 class size battery. The Walmart branded battery may come in below $100...but again, check the battery's specs to see if they can fulfill your electronic needs. USA Battery MFG's & the brands they sell them under

Re:
Funny that all of sudden my Battery quit so I got out my receipt and I had bought my Interstate Battery 30 months ago went over there and they gave me a new one no charge while I was there I purchased a trickle charger because I bought an 08 645 ci and don't drive the 7 much anymore but don't have the heart to sell it. Anyway the Battery has 3 year replacemant and 2 more years of exchange pro-rated the cost is $157.00 installed
