Fidelity Extended Warranty
Does anyone have any experience with Fidelity Warranty. I just got this quote for the Platinum coverage which pretty much covers evertything, but i just don't want to commit to a service that's gonna give me the run around.
3 years from purchase or 36,000 miles – 2,449.00 4 years from purchase or 48,000 miles – 2,927.00

Be careful - that was from a user with a single post and no history on this site. Do a search on the topic - it's been discussed before.

Either way, if that quote you mentioned is for even halfway decent coverage, that is INCREDIBLY inexpensive on an m6!

when i was looking at aftermarket insurances i got quoted 4800 for a 650 so i would think an m6 would be considerably higher... Read the fine print man. let us know what u find im thinking m6 as well for my next vehicle and if they are giving platinum cov for 3k that would be a great help

I've heard that Zurich and AUL are good warranty companies. I have a big claim with my extended warranty company (Endurance) and I will update you on the outcome and weather or not they stand by their warranty.

I just discussed a car available at an independent used highline car dealership. I asked if a CPO was able to be arranged and of course, not without the sale to a dealership first. They quickly offered me Fidelity Extended Warranty as it is far lower cost and covers everything. I quickly said no thanks to the warranty and the car. There are many choices out there.

Good choice! I can't believe with all the complaints out there that dealerships continue to offer Fidelity as an option.

Fidelity
I recently bought a 2004 645ci convertible with just 7000 miles from a seller in another state. The local BMW dealer has offered me an extended warranty for 7 years or 70,000 miles, platinum coverage from Fidelity for $2,370, $100 deductible. I understand it is cheap because of the exceptionally low current mileage.
Most of the negative coverage I have seen relates to dissatisfaction with the original terms of the contract. (for example wear and tear items, ball joints etc., coverage no longer valid after 50,000 miles) Does anyone have bad experience not as a result of the above? They do have an A+ rating from BBB. I am looking for a long term, low mileage warranty. |

I did autopom and they recently saved me about 3k. I didnt even have to make a call after the first one. The bmw dealership loaned me a 5 series and 2 weeks later my dynamic drive was fixed, they gave me a new computer for my navigation, and more. Wont turn back Mercury through autopom is the best.

Good news on the Mercury policy. I bought a Mercury policy through Autopom in July.

I think because you have an M6. AutoPom doesn't have cover for M6. I used to contact them about this before. There is chance if you already have 5 star warranty then it might be able to extend (one of my friend get his cover extended one more time before the first one out). I have not find an aftermarket warranty for M6 (unless you are still low miles and under factory coverage).
Fidelity is really bad imo, my friend uses it for his X6 and they process claim super slow. However, if there is no choice then it's still better than nothing. |

I don't have any experience with aftermarket warranties, however the Fidelity Warranty is well reviewed on the m5board. Like Reytran says, while they may pay slow the M6 has limited warranty options. That board has many discussions and threads regarding aftermarket warranty options.
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63...arranty-3.html The M6 has a unique set of issues because of the failure rate on the SMG pump system and how this affects coverage. Sure, some 6ers do have SMG, but the majority of the M6's are SMG with a small percentage being manual. Last edited by tampamark; 11-26-2012 at 06:43 PM. |

Thank you Tampamark. The thread you linked to agreed with my own evaluation of the FWS contract. I am going to continue to search that forum for any experience of actual warranty claims.

I did a quick search online and found this and it covers M6
http://bmw.endurancenow.com/?cm_mmc=126-_-1-_-50034 Hope it's help. Never heard anyone mention about this. @Colink: that's what I mean by the claiming process is really slow. If you're not the one with M6, just go with 5stars or AutoPom. Easier choice. I think most of the dealer accept 5stars warranty as their own CPO one. Drop and go style. Quote:
I have an aftermarket Wheel Hazard program, it took almost two weeks to get my approval for the replacement of two rims and tires. Sure it was a pain and a bit frustrating during the wait, but in the end I had $2200 worth of replacements to reward my patience. Having a dealer loaner made that a much easier pill to swallow, so I guess if Fidelity is slow on the claim approval and you don't have a loaner it would be exponentially more frustrating. Quote:
