Depends on what you're going for. Mild, medium, or hot?

who even needs headers, back pressure is overrated run it right from the open head. helps the exhaust valves breathe.

You guys are a riot.

Okay, as ZeGerman mentioned- it depends on what "best exhaust system" is. What are you looking for in terms of gains? Performance, noise, weight reduction etc?

You'll get a decent upgrade in breath-ability by swapping on an M3 exhaust, and more by swapping S52 exhaust manifolds. Those have air holes that will need welding / filling and sanding smooth. They're tubular, and are considered to flow the best. Cats from an S52 flow better than an S50 / M50. Cat back: depends upon what you want. Some systems drone so bad I would not consider driving out of the parking lot. Others, not so much. Remus will make your car speak with a German accent (says their advertising, and my 0.02). You'll shave weight and add a little oomph with what I've said, but the business behind the cat is what is really personal. I personally think loud exhausts are irritating. If I WOT it, I want to know it and enjoy it-- otherwise I want it quiet.
