z3 seat belt guides
i have a 1999 z3 roadster with two broken seat belt guides. i also have a machine shop. i am going to make a set of these guides for my vehicle out of aluminum, would anyone else be interested in a set of these. from what i read, it seems they all break. we could supply these in pretty much any color you would like. please let me know.

I look forward to seeing the prototypes! Someone must have tried this before. It'd be nice if they could be installed without having to remove the seat skin.

I think there would be tremendous interest in this. Virtually all Z3s have broken seat belt guides and they are quite difficult to replace. It would be worth it to most owners to replace the original guides with more durable ones.
BTW, If you're taking orders, put me down for a pair, preferably in black. Last edited by Blacklane; 11-29-2012 at 04:42 PM. |

seat belt guides
I would be interested...black if possible. Will you send me a pm when you make a decision about making them and the price. I would greatly appreciate it.

OEM seat belt guides are readily available and not too expensive (about $20 US each), but replacing them requires removing the seat from the car and removing the seat leather from the back. That is a many-hour job. I have heard of several short cuts, such as cutting the stitching and re-sewing the leather and installing screws into the foam.

That was after removing the seat and disassembling the back. It is still a lot of work. Morrie just didn't remove the leather or back foam.
