Security Recall

My 07 335i E90 N54 has been recalled to rectify security glitch, since so many are getting nicked here in UK. Don't know what the fix is...anyone???

Yes, I read that first...doesn't appear to answer my questions though.

What's the fix about and does it only affect right hookers?

My BMW main dealer had my 335i back for 1.5 hours on Monday...no idea what they did ...no piece of paper stating that what ever they needed to do was done and no-one there to tell me what they did.

Sure glad it has been done though and no 8 year old with an Ebay gizmo can nick it in 3 mins!...

The 'fix' involves disabling the auto opening function of the windows. Thieves are using a screw driver (or similar) to force the door lock, then hold the lock in the 'open' position so all the windows lower. With care they can then access the OBD port and reprogramme a blank key from the car's memory without setting off the alarm.
