6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Unless you're:
A) going for enduro races in your 6er (unlikely) B) trying to waste money on brake pads, too (more likely) Just get the regular blanks and a caliper cover to make your brakes pop. Slotted/Drilled rotors will otherwise just be a waste of money.

I recommend OEM rotors because they are a semi-floating 2 piece design (aluminum hats with steel rotor rings) but they go for about $180 each. You get what you pay for though, OEM is the best quality on the market.
Drilled look cool so if you are going for looks the best drilled on the market are made by StopTech and are available at TireRack. Here is a post with the links.

In 2009 I purchase Premium Performance Drilled/Slotted Rotors (4) and StopTech Street Performance Pads, and got them shipped to me for $550.00. They may of gone up a bit, but they worked fine, and if your looking to improve the appearance of your ride (LOL the hot babe doesn't hurt), well I got a lot of thumb ups.

09 650i Cross Drilled Rotors Installed
I recently installed the StopTech Cryo-SportStop Drilled Rotors with the StopTech Street Performance Pads and they are great. I have a much softer brake, but my stopping distance is much shorter.
I have not had them on long enough to notice a huge difference in brake dust. I also have the MGP Caliper cover, which also helps minimize brake dust. I followed Yorgi step by step instructions on changing brakes and rotors letter by letter. My only difference was the rotors and I used non BMW Caliper Grease. My main reason for doing it was the looks, so I am little bias when I say I have better braking, that is probably my ego, trying to justify the cost and effort of the change. So, if you are doing it for the looks go for it! For performance, I think the StopTech Pads are just far better than the OEM and I probably would have the same result with the OEM Rotors. Russ |
