some pics of work i've done!

bmw e46 sedan interior trim. these are from a good friend in OR. got them done today as well, 3m 1080 carbon fiber. came out great! will be back in the box awaiting the trip back home. Wu! Wraps

sup sup, got around to wrapping this one up tonight too. what you see is what you get, pulled from a BMW e46 sedan, wrapped up and ready to go! Wu! Wraps

sup sup, another BMW e46 coupe interior trim wrapped up! man this one was some work! had to sand down a bunch of the arm rest parts since they were peeling/bubbling/cracking, you name it, it was bad! washed and cleaned the armrest supports too (the gray part) prior to re-installing it all. came out great! also did the mirror area with knifeless tape. overall job time on this one was 6hrs. owner is super happy with the results! Wu! Wraps

BMW e46 M3 steering wheel trim & SMG dome in 3m 1080 carbon fiber. did the steering wheel trim & SMG boot in 3m 1080 carbon fiber. the oem steering wheel trim was BAD! owner sanded it down and spray painted it, but it didn't stick well, thing was pretty much white when he brought the car over. pulled it off, wrapped it up! did both parts in about 1hr all said & done. great accents to the already nice interior! owner is super happy with the results! You should post some DIY's for getting all of that interior paneling around the shifter as well as the vents/radio off. I want to see if I can't tighten mine down, it's causing a bit of rattling. I may also give some sort of vinyl wrap a go.

bimcwe: too many diy for e46 interior trim removal. just google and you will find many. yup, usually if you have some noises, use some felt with the sticky back that you buy at the fabric store, usually a 8x10 sheet for a couple bucks... cut and apply around gaps/loose corners, should do the trick.

scarede46er: you think so? what do you think is a reasonable price for this type of service? keep in mind a e46 coupe trim takes around 3hrs to wrap, a e46 4dr takes around 2.5hrs to wrap. materials cost for both is around $30.00

Well, see according to my calculations and opinions, I know a BMW mechanic that charges 40 dollars an hour since he has no dealership overheads. The most i would be willing to pay for wrapping is 25 an hour + cost of materials + say a 10% profit margin on the material. So, 25*2.5+1.1*30 approximately 100 dollars. Of course other opinions might differ.

ic, so why would u offer me $25.00 for my services and $40.00 for his?... obviously he feels his skills at what he does is worth $40.00 per hr and you agree. what makes you think the skills it takes to achieve a high quality wrap job would be worth $25.00 per hr?... i do see you say "most your willing to pay", maybe you have not seen what goes into a wrap job, and that maybe the case, not may people know what's involved. youtube vids & speed up timelapse vids make it look very straight forward. its a very tedious process and very similar to custom upholstery. i know you wouldn't offer a upholstery shop $25.00 per hr to say, wrap your door panels in suede/ leather would you (ie: those guys usually charge $80-100 per hr for there work)?...

not taking a shot at you in any way, just trying to understand how u come to $25.00 per hr as a value for my services.

I did not take offense nor did I mean to give you any offense. I am willing to pay him the 40 bucks since he has 20 years of experience in a BMW dealership. So if there is a problem I cannot figure out, I defer to his judgment. I am sure wrapping is an involved job, I just dont see that value of that to ME being worth what you are demanding. But to others that may be a good value; as an economuist, I cannot pass judgment on that! The value of your work is the price the market is willing to pay. So I hope you dont take my comment in the wrong way Good luck with your venture!

Personally I would rather pay the $30-40 for materials, do it myself (taking my time) approx 4-5 hours, and have it all done back in my car in one day. And not pay for shipping, and wait a few weeks to you to send it back to me, and pay $200+. This site seems to be more DIY oriented, but that's just me. I'm sure there are people out there that want no part in tackling a job like this.

guys thanks for the input on this specific service! yes, trying to figure out what is the value of this service is somewhat tricky. i've found that it also varies with the car/ how new it is/ etc... so let me ask all the e46 guys on this site that maybe interested in getting this done, what would you guys pay for something like this?... i have my price listed as $200 for sedan, $250 for coupe+shipping both ways -$40.00 till jan 2013. i am open to changing this, no prob. so we have scarede46er who says it s worth about $100.00 to him for the sedan, stilover who would prefer to DIY spending $30-$40 on materials only. all input is welcome

thanks again guys for your thoughts! i wanna be a long time sponsor for the site offering these services so help me help everyone else out!

so this would obviously be a local job... good reference for out of state guys that may want this done. would be nice to show this to any tint/vinyl wrap/sign shop in your area as a guide.

BMW 135i e82 window trim wrapped in 3m 1080 gloss black. came out great! 1-series is a little bit different than the e9x cars i've done a lot of. has a rubber seal that divides the rear quarter panel trim to the sloping long upper trim. makes for a more challenging cut there. since the rubber seal is so small and butts up against the chrome, you can't tuck the vinyl, just gotta cut it as close as you can. this job took about 2hrs to complete. I think that looks pretty cool! Looks like your detail with the wraps is great. If i could let my e46 sit while i sent it to you, i'd do it for that price, well after the holidays per se. Looks great.

sup sup, did this one today. BMW X5 interior trim wrapped with 3m 1080 brushed black! came out excellent! this is the 2nd X5 i've done, this one was a bit faster. still a nightmare removing the entire center console to unscrew the trim prior to wrapping... everything came out great tho, this job took around 5-6hrs to complete. i'm thinkin this brushed black is gonna become very popular very fast! Audi S4 B8 rear diffuser wrapped in 3m 1080 carbon fiber. this was a pretty tricky diffuser, up there in degree of difficulty... tried to pull it off the bumper on the car but no go, tabs were toooo stiff. ended up pulling the rear bumper off, and doing it. took the chrome part off, wrapped that in 2 parts (top & bottom seamed with knifeless tape). did the rear diff in 2 sections (the main area & the way back in another strip since the vinyl was too bunched up to save). no one will ever tell there is seams in this job. also did the ACHTUNING license plate frame, sorry forgot to take a pic of that... all in all came out great! bad pics, too dark outside to take good ones as well... total job time was 4.5hrs! owner is diggin tha new look tho!
