Exclamation Warranty Expiring soon- Should I buy Extended Warranty ??

I have an 09 335i XDrive with about 40K miles on it. My warranty is set to expire in 3 weeks & I'm worried whether or not I should put down 3-4K on extending my warranty.

My car is in pretty good condition right now. I'm not expecting to put a lot of miles on it as well for the next 12 months. But I've read a lot on the forums about the 335 turbo engine issues and kinda worried that if I don't have the protection it might cost me dear if something goes wrong.

My car already had the high pressure fuel pump issue at around 12K miles & BMW has replaced the High pressure fuel pump. Question is, would the high pressure fuel pump problem come back? I was told it won't. But want to see if there is anyone out there who had that issue repeated..

i'm planning to get my car/engine checked at an Indy shop next week. Everything might come out okay but i'm still not sure if I should invest the 3-4K in the warranty?

3-4K? Is that the most premium plan that includes just about everything? I looked at the middle plan, whatever it is called, which includes most mechanical components that are prone to failures but excludes radio, nav and stuff like that. I got a quote as low as $2,000 and decided against it. $2,000 buys quite a bit of repair and I hope my car falls on the average or left thereof.

I'd be more inclined to bank that $3-4k (savings acct) and look for a good Indy shop in case something happens. Especially since you don't seem to put too many miles on the car. You should have plenty of options for Indy shops living in NJ...VAC in Philly is awesome, if you are close. The fuel pump is covered 10 years or 120k, I believe.

Yeah the dealer here in NJ quoted me $3800 for the Platinum Plan for 6 yrs/10000 (he might have quoted that for 7 yrs) but I do remember clearly the 100K miles. I'm not sure how much for the Gold (mid) plan though
