FS: OEM E39 HID Xenon Headlamp set **SOLD*
BMW E39 5 series HID Xenon headlamp assemblies. Includes the ballasts and bulbs. these units have the self-leveling motors. Also has the turn signal sockets but they are each missing one latch. Factory OEM parts. Part numbers 63128386559 & 63128386560 for left and right. These were specifically made for 3/1998 to 9/2000 model E39 cars. These will plug and play as replacements for your halogen lights. They also fit all the early model and the later model E39's but don't have the angel eyes that were included after 9/2000. They look almost brand new. There is no pitting on the lens surface. They've been packed away in my garage for a number of years since I sold my 540.
These are still available new for $840+ each from several dealers. I've also seen many on E-Bay for $275 to $350 each in much worse condition. I'm asking $480 for the pair with local pickup. I can ship them but you will have to pay the shipping cost. Interested in these. Are they still FS? Are they truly P&P for my non-HID equipped 03 525i Sportwagon? Am I correct in assuming the HIDs are for low beam only? I've never been satisfied with the light output from my low beams. In fact, they're pitiful. High beams aren't bad at all.

They are plug and play but keep in mind they won't have the angel eye rings. On a non-HID car the on board computer will throw a code about them. You can have the dealer (or any shop with the right equip.) turn on the HID option in the onboard computer. That's what I did when I added them to my '99 540. Nick |

Not a big deal to me, but they do have the angel eyes, but they won't function until the computer can be reprogrammed, if I read you correctly? Or, it will throw a fault code until I get this reprogrammed?

The HID lights will throw a code until the onboard computer is told the car has HID. If I remember correctly, I think it thinks a light is out because of no filament. |

Well, I wouldn't want some el cheapo aftermarket Angel Eyes kit that could mess up, like my son had on his Scion, so would just live without them. So, I *will* get a code, til I have it reset? I can just ignore it, right? I never go into the dealership for anything.

You can just ignore it. They will still function normally until you get tired of seeing the fault.
There are some independent shops that have the BMW scan tools ($$) instead of the generic Bosch or other brands. Those that do can make the mods. PM me if you're interested. |
