Not a very popular color, it seems.

Doesn't this color only come with ActiveHybrid 3?

It looks like it is available on all lines except for M-sport.

Which is why I ordered this color.

There was a similar color for the E90, but not quite the same. Or is it the same with just a different name?

Different color. E92/93 always had Liquid Blue. E90 had Blue Water Metallic which is slightly lighter.

The E90 photo makes it look more silver than it really is. I own a 2011 E90 in Blue Water. It's a great color. I haven't seen a LB F30 yet.

I saw one in person, car was a little soft looking.

In the flickr picture, it looks quite lavenderish, but these blues seem very hard to get right in pictures (that goes for Estoril Blue as well).

Indeed...they are hard to "get right" even in real life because the appearance changes depending on the lighting...I guess that is the characteristic of that color.

Yes it does. In direct sunlight when looking at the surface at 90 degrees and at dusk/artificial light it looks silver. It looks its best at full daylight in the shade, like in the signature picture below in the front of the Welt.

As far as I'm concerned, I picked it because it perfectly shows every crease in the sheetmetal all the time at any angle. And I just happen to love those E92 creases

It's a unique color you don't see very often. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen it.

I saw one on the dealer's lot, but have never seen one on the road. It was (to my eye, anyway) a little lighter and a little bluer (that is, less silver) than Mark K's photo. I had expected to like it based on previous BMW light blues, but I thought it was just "okay". But then, color is the ultimate subjective topic.

Here are a couple shots of my car. The blue really makes the OEM calipers stand out.

I wanted to see it, along with a few other colors, on the lot before ordering my car, but the dealers closest to me had hardly anything beyond alpine white, jet black and silver. I did see one dark blue, but I didn't want something that dark.

I ended up getting alpine white because I don't think you can go really wrong with that, but I wish I could have seen more colors live before having to make a decision.

Yep, that echos my experience as well. Seems dealers know the safe bets are white, black and silver so that's all they order.
