Private purchase on a 2012 35d???

a fully loaded 35d with only 5000 miles is for sale and what I am looking for. are there any concerns with pulling the trigger on this? I would plan to buy the extended warranty 6yr 100K mile before the factory expires anyway.......

I know obvious qustions like:

Why selling
services performed





Any advice?

If the 'story' checks out and the owner seems sane/engaged/honest, I'd have no concerns. Anything doesnt ring true, you should ask to have them release the service records to you to see if there is any history.

The biggest issue is price...not a lot of comps, and owners dont like taking a beating on a 'new' car. For a brand new X5 you should pay 10k under MSRP. Someone just sold their 12 with 11k miles for 47k, carmax is asking 51k for it now. Personally, unless one is saving a chunk of $$$ by buying used, saving a few k over a long term ownerships isnt worth the effort. If you are a shorter term holder, it may be worth it.

I looked for that vehicle on carfax, I could not find it.

Thanks for the info though. I do have a dealer willing to sell me the EXACT new one I want for invoice minus 6K for incentives. The price tag is just a little mean.....

So how much cheaper is the used 5000 mile car as compared to the "10k off MSRP' the dealer is offering??

The guy in NJ never returned my email or phone call. As far as mikes, that one would work if it were not sand beige on the interior.....

My car is a steal. Honestly flawless (never burned even a drop of oil and never even needed an adjustment after delivery).
