SOMEONE HELP ME really annoying problem

So I keep cleaning the area around the gas tank cap, but it gets dirty really quickly again. My OCD is acting up again and I can't stand it,

Do you mean dirty from gas? I never have this problem.
Is the cap closing well enough? Is the rubber clean?

Maybe you should clean it up and buy a new cap?

If you mean that there is dirt in the area behind the door: that hapens all the time,
the dirt and water can't go out.

I have been thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom.
Maybe someone else has a good solution?

I have the same problem whenever i wash the car ,water will collect under the cap, 1/2 a cup, and would not drain until you suck it with a tissue.

Open the door and clean it? There is a drain hole below the filler cap.

Not on the saloon.

BTW, it would be insane to intentionally drill a hole in the body, unless you know how to repair the factory coating. You'll be inviting rust.

It's dirt build up near the gas cap. I keep cleaning it but it comes back

I stand corrected, I swear i had a drain hole, i guess one of my other bmws had a small drain hole in the filler cap area but not the e39. I got curious and went and checked and I don't have a drain hole either. In fact there was a bit of water in there as well. My mistake.

If one did want to drill into the car for whatever reason, I'm sure a dab of clear coat would seal the exposed metal. Might want to put down some masking tape first to. (Although I would never want to recommend drilling a hole in your car)
