Too bad it says the gas is US bound but not the diesel. I have always thought a diesel hybrid would be interesting to get. Well assuming the price was right.

Ford, of all people, had a Mercury concept car based on the Freestyle wagon that was a three cyl diesel hybrid about 6 years ago -- but nothing ever came of it and they went with the gasser hybrid. The small diesel electric combo was supposed to be good for over 60 mpg.
 Volvo used to sell diesels here -- too bad they stopped. A nice XC60 diesel would be very interesting.

The Mercedes E Class diesel hybrid currently available in Europe is listed at 4.2 litres per hundred kilometers...which is something like 55mpg.Imagine what a 3 Series or C Class diesel hybrid would get.

Many years ago I recall a diesel hybrid Intrepid made for some contest. Never made for consumer use due to the cost.
