1990 e30 ipod installed in dash let me know what you think

Just made this proud of my self let me know your thoughts on it. It runs through usb in the radio.

Interesting I have spent many hours thinking about such things. Don't get me wrong it looks good, although a little crude. Not that incorporating modern items into old interiors seamlessly is easy.

From a practical perspective how easy is it to use , does it get sun glare , how do you update it?

Yea well thats kind of a bad picture of it but im still working on it i thought it was decent being im only 16, but it has no glare very nice to use and go through music fast and yea i have the usb easy to reach and plug in to the computer. I stream my music on spotify so it updates when Im at my house on wifi.

I have already thought about removing the digital clock (we don't have the mileage calc. etc. in the early 323) and put in a display unit for Boost etc.
Or do you get such commercially ?

Pretty good. and a lot of people will ask if it is standard.

Basically i just took out the computer and the mounting bracket that holds the computer in. Then i got some Plexiglas to fill the gabs on either side of the ipod. Then I made a brace for the back of the ipod from beding plexiglass. The hardest part was making enough room for the charging cord to plug in on the bottom of the ipod. I should of took more pictures of the bracket I made to show you.

But if you give the ipod wifi from your phone you could get mph and mpg right on the ipod also use the maps and other apps.

I think a ipod classic would fit perfect you wouldnt have to do much just work out a brace.

Not bad not bad. usually not a fan of non-period modifications, but it sure beats my windscreen mount for my iPod

you can buy a gauge pod for there commercially, I have been out the E30 Performance game for too long now i cant remember where, but google should come up with a result or 10

Yea but its fun to creat it by your self makes you like your car all the more
