2012 X5D - Purchase Concerns

I am about to purchase a 2012 X5d, with the 20 inch wheels, but I am getting worried about all these tire issues I am reading about. I am supposed to do the deal tomorrow, switching out of a 2011 Touareg. The deals are so good on the x5's that it is actually less than a new 2013 Touareg.

So bottom line is I am very concerned about these 20 inch run flats. Can someone talk me off the cliff?
