DAB Radio..
Hi all,
I'm new around here but thought I'd share my recent digital radio installation 'experience'! I took the plunge, after a bit of research, and bought an Autodab BMW kit - with the window mount aerial. FYI. I have a 320D ED with iDrive and Professional NAV installed. After I got over the initial shock of having my new (well, new to me, it's 2011) BMW have it's innards ripped open by a young Halfords tech, the end result was worth it.. The unit is completely hidden behind the dash and glovebox. It's operated entirely with the steering wheel controls (well, thats what I've been using). Certainly sounds better than the dealer installed version that uses a dash mounted remote control. The aerial is a screen mount one (stick on) at the top left hand side of the window (from the inside). It's pretty unobtrusive and doesn't stick out too much. I can always replace it with a small aerial if reception sucks out of town. Up in Edinburgh, I get 57 Digital Channels for my daily commute (Planet rock and Kerrang, woohoo - plus all the BBC digital ones etc). You need to configure your presets (or you might find you only have only 7 channels) so it's not a chore to switch between them all. A happy camper! ![]() NP |

No DAB in the US
No DAB in the US to my knowledge, Sirius would be the closest thing.
Don't know about the rest of the world so you may not get much response |
