First Post
Hi, this is my first post!
I´m eagerly awaiting the delivery of a new 520iA by the end of January. I still drive my second E39 and have started to become a bit worried about whether the F10 will give me a better driving experience or not. The new car has standard looks with 17" RFT´s for both summer and winter. Inside it´s Nappa leather, DDC and 6WB MFID ++. The drive, in terms of comfort, ease and pleasure, is important to me. So, in the light of all the reports on bad steering, pulling to the right and vibrations exceeding 65 mph (104kmh), I´m anxious I might get a Monday car giving me trouble instead of pleasure - especially when steering is expected to be corrected and refined on the 2014 LCI facelift. I didn´t expect to feel like rolling a dice when I ordered the car. Maybe it´s nothing, and that the long term steering problems on the F10 are gone by now. I need a bit of luck because I´m buying the car directly from the UK BMW Group, and will not have a local dealer to assist me. janke Last edited by janke; 11-25-2012 at 03:19 PM. Reason: Shortening |

New Member Check In
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum stuff but I am looking forward to learning lots of new things about my Bimmer. I proudly own a 2007 335i and am very impressed with the hot rod performance it has. I have installed an Injin dual air filter setup and look forward to installing more goodies for more performance. I would enclude a photo but I don't have any on my computer yet. Will post one soon. |

New memeber question
Hello, Thank you for the opportunity to join the BMW community.
I currently have a 2001 740 that needs some work. in particular the head lights do not work except for the high beams. I have been told by my dealer that the electrical wiring has all melted/disintegrated to the point where the entire assembly needs replacement. estimated cost 3k. Auto has 250k mileage and good bodyand runs well. any thoughts aor suggestions? Thank you in advance for any opinions or experience. johnmca |

Hi everyone,
I have just joined you and am looking forward to reading the various post etc. I bought my 520i auto (1998 S reg) about 5 years ago with 99k on the clock. As I'm now retired, I only do around 5 to 6k pa so she still has only 133k on the clock and I love her! Best car I have eve owned (and I've had a few) Keep up the good work http://s1.bimmerfest.com/forums/imag...iggrinpimp.gif |

brian335 - I've had over 4 bmw's in my driving lifetime and I've never had to make any major mods, but curious as why are you coding your 335xi?

that's actually a good question - I'm sure my wife will ask the same thing at some point. Its mostly a learning experience and satisfaction of being able to do it. My actual coding targets are rather trivial like turn off the disclaimer on the nav, and set auto start/stop to 'remember last setting' for default. The car may actually arrive that way for ASS, not sure. I'm also thinking I might make sense of error codes and be able to reset them at some point. I didn't like an experience paying the dealer to reset the check engine light on my current BMW after my daughter didn't tighten the gas filler cap one time. (At least she put gas in though)

Heater Problem
I have a 87 e30, and when i would turn the heater on dial 1, it wouldn't work, then I would turn it to dial 2, and it wouldn't work, when i turn it to dial 3 it would begin to work then I could turn it back to dial 1 or 2 and it would work accordingly. Is this a problem with the blower motor or the resistor?

Hi everybody, after ten years of being a proud BMW owner I have just discovered this site (sorry) Sadly I have just part exchanged my 325ci after almost ten years of joy, 140,000 miles of trouble free driving, due to the car being worth very little costs of servicing outweighed the value so last week I picked up my 520 se touring ex demo 12 plate, I love it, getting used to the size, only one issue and that is the comfort of the seat after an hour or so, but that's a matter for another place in this forum.
