E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

BMW 650 1X G Coupe 4 Dr. VS Mercedes CLS550 4Matic

First, I am not a troll. I have been a member of this forum for quite some time. Recently I was shopping for a 650i G Coupe. I must admit, I loved the car. The only other "4 door Coupe" in the market is the MB CLS550.

A little history. I had a 07 BMW 335i and a 08 BMW 328ix. Both were coupes. My wife and I enjoyed both those cars. They were traded for two E350 4Matic sedans. One in 2010 and the other in 2011. This year we decided to trade the two MB's. My wife wanted to go back to a coupe and opted for the E350 coupe 4M. I preferred the BMW. The 550 didn't do it for me. Prices in Canada for the 650i G Sport start at a base of 99,000.00 plus options for a total of 119K. A similarly equipped CLS 550 was 93K. The BMW had 48hp more. I could not justify the extra 25K.

My question is this. Did I make a mistake???

25k is a lot of Money... My question to you would be were you leasing or buying the car out right...

If leasing then the difference really isn't 25k... And yes you made a mistake.. Between the exhaust note on the M Sport cars, Bang and Olufson, Styling, and Brut force of the 430hp twin turbo V8.. On a lease I would take the GC everytime...

If its a straight purchase.. You can do a lot worse than a CLS 550...

My two cents... Before I purchased my 650 I went to look at the CLS and it wasn't for me... Still a great car though..

Looks like you are flipping cars every 2 years so I think you made a mistake if price was your deciding factor. If buying or leasing you are not losing $25K more on the BMW vs the Merc after 2 years. Personally I like the CLS but I have not driven the 650i GC for a comparison.

At least you have a porker to drive if you ever have the need for speed.
Straight lines are for fast cars...turns are for fast drivers
