Tint or No Tint

Recently had my Imola 650i tinted all around with 3M Crystalline 40% and with 70% on the windsheild. It's quite important living in Arizona to have a good tint that does more than just create shade, key is keeping the heat out of the interior.

As far as appearance do you guys think the 650i looks better tinted or not? Here are a two before and two afters.

I like the look of the tint, but I also like how the white leather sticks out without the tint.

Love the tint... especially in Arizona. But agree, the White Opal is gorgeous.... and then again, you have to protect!

By the way... LOVE the landscape/hills in the background! Zippo rust!

I definitely appreciate the thermo benefits in hot climates.

Always better tinted, IMO.

Tinted. Definitely. Perhaps even a bit darker.

I'm Florida, so I say definite YES to tinting, but I do see the point of the interior showing off better untinted.

In New Mexico, just like in Arizona, tint is the way to go. Yours looks great!

Does the 3M crystalline tint have a bluish hue at all?

Definitely like Tint. AZ no brainier. Need tint IMHO.

Cars without tint in those sunny climates = a Hertz Rental.

No the 40% 3M Crystalline does not have any bluish hue but slightly picks up the interior color.

On my G35 which has a beige interior the 40% Crystalline has a light brown hue that comes from the interior color. On the 650i I'm seeing a slight charcoal color that showing up I believe primarly from the Anthracite Alcantara headliner and the black carpeting.

I would also for sure go with the 70% Crystalline on your windsheild. The Crystalline looking outward from the windsheild is non existent. In fact looking out from the door windows you will not even know you have tint on your windows, that's the quality that comes from the 3M product. Cheap tint really darkens the view.

Do you plan to have a film like Expel applied on your car?

I like the tint and also think you should have gone darker. The white interior looks good but in my opinion it's more for you to enjoy and the fact you can't see it as much outside of the window doesn't matter to me. Nice Car overall though! Love the Imola Red!

Probably not going with the clear bra on the Imola, but still debating. What are your thoughts on this? Going with it though on inside the door handles where the ladies will create scratches from their nails over time.

The 3M all around including the windsheild ran me $650. It's not the easiest job for a tinter with that small back seat area. Took 3 hours to install.

I have only had basic tinting done on my cars, and never have used films for protection. This is new territory for me, hence the questions....

Tint looks great on the car! How much are they charging you over there for the 3M Crystalline installed?

Looks great!! Let us know if the tint truly keeps the interior cooler, especially tinting the windscreen.

For those who tinted your windshield, are you experiencing any optical distortions with the HUD or driving at night?
