Explain this scenario. I dont understand it. Orig invoice was 61,590, back out the 4500 eco you have 57,090 add $550 you have 57590 selling price new take off $0.75 per mile you get 47990. I would think this is a very fair first offer at negotiations.

What Ard said. Our 2011 msrp was mid 64's, bought it 9 months old (as new condition) with about 11k miles for a bit under 50k.

Actually, no. Typical my deal was better than your deal response. Your not buying the options this has for 54k before tax and title.

Not sure I follow your post. Lets separate the two posts.

The OP quoted Ard's method which uses INVOICE. Your post stated that your purchase matched Ard's calculation exactly but you referenced MSRP.

My last post was a reply to JCDLibby77 and was not intended to comp with your deal.

So your deal was closer to $0.50/mile depreciation.

MSRP $64k - $10k (rebates/$500 over invoice) = $54k original purchase price

$54k - $5-6k ($0.50/mile) = $49-48k.

Is that fair?

Ya, doing the math with the 'Ard' formula, we would be about $0.45/mile. For us, used made more sense as I could'nt find 10k off around CO or neighboring states and used made it easier for us to purchase and lic it in such a manner to avoid tax. Also, our upper price limit was $50k and made the trade off between slightly used or a base new (and getting to $50k still didn't look likley).
