1998 328i PA6GF50

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and new some help. I just purchased a 1998 BMW 328i coupe. Ever since I bought this car I kept hearing a beeping sound from under the steering wheel. Thought it was the seatbelt warming but it's not. I took panel out and found it was a black plug with a small speaker labeled PA6GF50. And I was wondering of anyone knows what this is for? I tried google and yahoo search but nothing pops up. Would really appreciate the help. Thanks

You don't cut anything just unplug the speaker...

I'm gonna guess aftermarket alarm...

Quote:
Sounds like you have an after market alarm system. Normally a factory alarm will not have a shock sensor. Its probably the shock sensor causing the constant beeping. If you think this is the case you can normally find the shock sensor under the drivers side dash secured to the steering column. It will probably have a light inside that comes on when it detects vibration. There will be an adjustment to make it more or less sensitive. Hope this helps.

Is it (the cluster) fully plugged in?

It's fully plugged in. All the gauge lights are not illuminating, A/C , heater buttons (only in green not orange) the lighter
Or the back trunk not turning on.

Try taking your pictures again. But in focus please. Lets us see more clearly the issue. Pun not intended.

Check fuses 23, 27, 31, and 46. They affect your instrument cluster.

Also possible that you just have a buttload of light bulbs blown in your cluster and center console.

Have you checked the bulbs?

How did you test the fuses?

How does the light switch 'feel' when you turn it 2 clicks right?
