I love my bmw

I'm always seeing threads on help, but not about how great these freakin things drive! I have a 03 325i sport/cold weather pkg. I've put 6000 miles on her with only issue being a tensioner pulley. This thing is just amazing when you get up to a 100+ well its great from 0-100 too but when u get past a 100 she seems to shine. I'm 35 and have always driven yotas haha so when i test drove a bmw there was no turning back. Everything else i test drove after didnt come close to the power and handling of the BMW. Alright I'm done. I love my car!!!!

Welcome, and nice reading some praises and positives on the 'fest. We need to hear from more 'festers.

I assume you have a "fuzz buster" setup in your machine....?

-sigh- I would love to speed in my Bimmer, but damn. Talk about the Authorities breathing down your neck! I Got 99 problems and getting to 0 to 60 ain't one.

100+ and then you feel the pull?

These cars are really good cars, but I have to differ on your statement on "it shines after 100+". The top end torque in our cars are not so useful. I say, easy to get to 100 but after that the torque curve stays stagnant. The best thrill you get is on 3rd gear.
Of course our cars are limited to 128mph but it can go well over 150mph(with the limiter removed).

Hopefully you are not driving 100+ all the time. Not only you are inviting a fat ticket, but also having yourself and others in danger.
Once in a while taking it to triple digits is fun but still its risky.

Hopefully, you have good tires, brakes and suspension in top shape. Our cars are designed for autobahn so sure it can take it, but when everything in your car is perfect.
Getting a ticket when you are doing 100+ is not fun. Ask me how I know

Thanks guy, yes i have a fuzz buster, and no i dont do it all the time, but if its a safe stretch of highway i go for it. What i meant by "shine" after a 100 mph was just the way it handles at those high speeds. Your right, i get to a 100 quick and then it does lose some torque. I just got new tread put on monday, but whenever i get up to those speeds im always thinking what if my tire blows, or a deer runs in front of me.... Thats when i usually let off some. But i love it, at 35 yrs old its the first time since i was 16 i've looked forward to getting in my car daily.

I share your enthusiasm but I don't drive that fast. I have lusted after a BMW for so many years and finally had a chance to get one. It always puts a smile on my face, and lately I have needed that.

after owning a 325 (A/T) and currently a ZHP (M/T ), i realized that the 325 is somewhat lazy going from to 60, everything beyond that feels like butter! at higher speeds it pulls faster in comparison to lower speeds. i was able to keep up easily with 328 on higher speeds.

I'm an insurance agent - so I know what happens to people who have excessive speeding tickets on their records - it's not pretty. I play the 0-60 game in my 330i and all that I want to do is accelerate to 100 - but I haven't had her over 85 yet.

Wait till you get to 120+ (Kmh of course) , it's even more amazing as all the other cars start to drop off. I love the american muscle that go that fast in a straight line then you hit a corner and they have to slow down or they will run into the wall, that's when you keep going and hold line at sustained speed.

Thanks av98! You hit the nail on the head! My bimmer handles like i'm doing 60 around these corners when i'm really doing a buck ten. And i can see the kid behind me getting farther away every corner we hit

I had a moron in a 1994-1998 Mustang GT try to chase me through the twisties one day. I ended up seeing his headlights get sideways at one point. He managed to save it, but he ended the chase right then.

The best part: I wasn't even pushing my car.
