18" wheel on 35i. Does no look like a 17" would clear the break caliper.

I just got a quote from CalgaryBMW on the 17" winter package, $3,100 and $3,700 for the 18" winter package.
To the best of my knowledge, the 35i and 28i have the same brakes. I use 17" wheels on my e60 535i sport and it has much bigger brakes than any X3 (13.8" front, 13.7" rear).
I phoned the dealer to see if e83 X3 wheels would fit on the f25 X3. The style 112 from the e83 is 17x8, same as my f25 but the offsets are slightly different (3mm). I was told they would not fit, he thought because of the centre bore was different. Just checked http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/BMW/ and the centre bore is the same for both generations.
Anyone know why the e83 and f25 wheels are not compatable?

Thats bizzar Before I bought wheels I took my 17's off my 06 x3 and they rub the rotor I'd have to see it to believe it on a 11 x3 35i

pmzangag...would you mind sharing what wheels you are using and where you purchased them from? They look OEM.

The factory original wheels were 17" x 8" with a 43mm offset but there is a better selection of tires in the 245/50R18 size. 1010tires guarantees the fit of these wheels and VMR says they fit, but I expect the fit to be tight on the front. The wheels are back-ordered and not expected until mid to late December.

I bought a new set of 276 wheels and center caps from my local dealer. These wheels are currently available on the Z4 28i. They are 18" x 8.5", 5 lug, 120mm, 40mm offset.

I definately have 17" M3 knockoffs as winter wheels for my X3 35i M-Sport.

They fit over the caliper. It's tight though.
