Mein Auto: bmw e60
bmw spending more

hello to everybody
I'm new here and I hope that someone will answer to a problem that I have with my bmw E60 2003/04.
What happened. After I finished the brake discs changing I went to my mechanic to he can delete board message about brake pads.
After he deleted that ( I have active steering fault message which have almost every bmw 04/06 I saw), in next couple days I noticed that my car consumes approximately 50% more fuel than before he conected car on computer.
Before it was around 7l/100km and now is more than 11. Thing is that my friend with his e46 did the same thing and now has the same problem.
Is anyone now what is this and how I can fix it.
Thank you
