Love my 2008 535xi
Just want to post a positive message because sometimes people don't post good news. I love my 2008 535xi that I bought CPO for my first BMW. The engine is incredible and I have no interest in looking at newer models. If I can I will keep this car for ten years. It has 49k for miles and I have had no major issues so far. I look forward to driving this car every day and I am so glad I wasn't dissuaded by all the hpfp Noise. This car is incredible and the feeling when it launches from a dead stop is amazing.

Cool.
While I've had to charge the battery a couple of times (no big deal), my '08 puts a grin on my mug every time I drive it. Especially now I have a new set of Nokian R winters on it for the snow and ice. |

. These cars are awesome - but can be handful. It jut depends on your luck of the draw - and you are seem to have a good one!

I've put 6K miles on mine in 2 months and love it!
Put a JB4 on it and it makes it that much better! |

Me too. Just got back from Vegas and got 19.9mpg. I have the wagon, and we fit all the luggage, souvenirs, and toys in the back. Went way over the speed limit and the engine was awesome!
On the way back, it was raining. The awd made the car very stable at speeds I wouldn't trust in my other car. My 535ix touring is probably the best all-around car I've ever owned. |

i have own my 08 535XI since July and start driving in Aug. honestly, i have to admit it put smiles on my face every time i drive it but i'm still disappointed how fragile for some interior component like heated seat fail, sunroof seal leak etc etc.
i can see mechanic will cause more problematic as the engine is under BOOST. i won't say i have regret what i got as it does create what Bimmer advertise "Ultimate driving machine" |

I love the beast. You don't realize how easy the thing builds speed until you drive something else. It needs no revs to build torque, it just goes. Drive something else, and you realize that most engines require more revs to get going.
I got a pretty awesome job in The Netherlands and brought the 535i with me. The E60 535i was only offered in the U.S. so I wear my 535i badge proudly. The F10 535i is avaiable here but the E60 535i was only in the States. I have only seen one 335i so far, 90% of the cars sold here are diesels. 520d's, 116i's etc. I have the JB3 and can personally tell you that the car will easily slam into the 150mph limiter going up-hill on the German autobahn. At the higher speeds that the autobahn allows, the beast still gets around 20mpg. At the sametime, if you travel at 75-80mph, 500 plus miles on a tank is doable. I also am highly impressed with the Continental DWS tires. It rains regularly here and these tires are just unstoppable, I never have to worry and feel that I would have to go above legal speeds around corners to get them to break loose. The fact that they are Z rated for speed is just icing on the cake. We got some light snow the other day but nothing serious enough to get a good assessment. But based on Tire Rack's testing I don't think I'll have to worry about anything unless a blizzard hits. Last edited by Dr.Phil123; 12-06-2012 at 10:24 AM. |

Since we're getting all sappy in here I would just like to say that i purposely go to the car wash and don't opt to dry it off via the wash blowers. I simply leave the car wash, slam the throttle and create my own dryer at...oh...somewhere between 100-110mphs. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
One gripe. I wish the damn thing would stop yelling at me when I'm low on fuel. It's annoying. |
