As someone who actually owns both the iPhone 5 and S3 phones and has probably had more iOS/Android devices than everyone here, the S3 won't solve your battery or network woes.

It almost lasts a day and Samsung RF performance has always been poor. Of course, it also depends on your carrier. You can't really blame the phone when your carrier sucks (ie folks on Sprint here in the US)

Few months off there. The S2 was released on Feb 13, 2011 and the S3 in May 2012.

I'm talking US market. Galaxy S2 was out on AT&T first week of November 2011 (I know because I waited in line to get it on launch day), and then S3 was out May/Early June (which is still Spring)

~7 months for new model.

Same thing with HTC. One X came out around May '12. One X+ will be out in a couple weeks.

I don't know about at&t, but GS2 was available for Sprint in Sep 2011, and GS3 for Sprint was late-June 2012.

And no, GS3 was not shipped out until late-June/early July for at&t customers.

Another note: Summer usually begins on Jun 21 in the US.

Keep up bashing Sprint all that you want as coverage is always YMMV. I thought mj was a successful businessman in Canada?

Do you need another post bashing on facts about Spring (not Sprint), like "Spring didn't come early enough"?

My review is that the back aluminum casing is very fragile. If the back was constructed with a durable material then I would give it a better review..
The specs are finally up to par with most top phones in the market so nothing great about that.

Liking it so far. Better battery life than the Nexus S. LTE is great when available.

It's strange you're having all of these issues. Siri aside, battery life, heat issues and fluctuating network performance all sound like either you are in an area of poor/spotty reception or there's some incompatibility between the iP5's radio and your carrier.

I live in ATL and am on AT&T and have none of these issues. LTE is blazing fast and solid but there are areas where I drop to 4G. Pretty sure I lose signal in elevators too but that's not a big deal to me. Web pages load instantly once the site responds.

I do agree there is some defect with the auto-dimming or else the behavior is completely different in iOS 6.

You would think so but if that were true then Samsung Smartphones sales would not be increasing at the current rates that they have been selling at.

I don't have one, but my brother just received his yesterday and so far he likes it very much. Being a iPhone user in the past, he thinks it has a better display and everything is faster. So my iPhone 4 will be on the way here soon. Now I just need to cut my sim card into a micro sim.

All in all it's an awesome phone. It's solid as a rock, extremely fast, responsive and smooth. The only problem is the battery life- but I just plug it in for 30 minutes if needed- that gets an extra 30-40% charge.

you could just turn off all the extra radios (wifi, gps, nfc, ...) and switch it to GSM.
