I was talking about on the road, but I don't think I've noticed it in any Ring videos, either. I don't watch a ton, though.

Hmmm... We have metered ramps here. Everybody waits for the signals, and the signal duration is based on traffic load. Don't know if they work or not, though. I'm inclined to think that they do work somewhat (better than nothing), but not very well overall. What we also have which NOBODY pays any attention to is variable speed limits. Our normal around town highway speed limit is 60, but they can change the limit in specific areas based on traffic conditions. If a huge bottleneck is up ahead, they will lower the limit down to 45 or so way ahead of time in an effort to reduce the possibility of a concertina effect. Nobody ever actually lowers their speed though, and they just keep barreling toward whatever mess is ahead at full speed, making matters even worse. Clearly this is an example of an idea that sounds great on paper and in computer modeling, but not when you include the human [idiot] factor.

Actually they seem dumb but they help a bunch. When you have a green light before the ramp and it dumps 30 cars down the ramp at once and then nothing, then 30 cars, then nothing, and this is happening every 1.5 miles at 5pm it just kills traffic. People have to slow down, and they move over to make room for the flood which backs up more lanes. This makes it so those 30 cars are gradually being spaced onto the freeway and smooths the whole flow of traffic. Stats actually support their efficacy in cutting drive times.

When they don't give enough room to get up to speed is when they suck (reference 101 mid peninsula) but otherwise they're pretty reasonable. But I wouldn't want to be driving a tiny engined penalty box and dealing with it.

The problem on 66 in va is that there is no room. I see how the theory could work.
But when the lights just let you on to the highway that is more like a parking lot, it doesn't work....

Question: sometimes I refresh the mobile app and it refreshes threads that I have read, with no new posts. Anyone else have this issue?

Joey, have you considered something like the W208 Merc's? My roommate has one, (a '00 CLK430) bought it 4 years ago (in our inflated prices) for $13.5k, and has had to put nothing else at all into it. It is reasonable on gas, actually pretty fun to drive, has nearly identical power to weight ratio's to your M3, and are quite comfortable.

http://tinyurl.com/b727oph

(Auto Trader link) there are several around your area in your price range ~ish.

Patrick, I have the same thing happen constantly with my phone. Android too? They way I usually do it is I back out then go back into the app to refresh. I find the fewest glitches that way.

Thanks y'all.

I've got a Steve jobs phone, but my android did the same thing.

Glad it's not just me.

Mine as well. They use a reskinned version of Tapatalk but haven't updated it forever, despite Tapatalk being several versions ahead now.

Meters are good when you have large volumes merging into a free flowing roadway. They increase the overall capacity and level of service. They cant help when the traffic is merging into a roadway that is already beyond it's design volume.

It's called a relapse. Your body didn't recover fully, then you put it through enough stress to get sick again.

Or it's lupus.

Saw this again, I've passed it before but was able to snag a pic this time. A big lifted diesel truck with the plate "ALPHAMAL"

I mean, really, is it possible to scream "I have a tiny penis!" any louder?!
