Automatic Reverse Side Mirror
Hello,
I have a 2005 Bmw325xi, manual and when I put it in reverse the right side mirror dips low so I can see the curb lines. A good feature but does anyone know how to control how much it automatically goes down? Right now I think its going dipping slightly more lower than what I woould I like. Thanks |

I don't think you can adjust it but if you slide the switch to the right to adjust the passenger mirror it will disable the auto lower feature

Ye thanks. thats what I found out too. Thats fine but I was just trying to control the lowering.
Boss I noticed you are in Michigan, I am out in Toronto. I heard parts/tires/rims are cheaper in the state side, Any truth to this? |

You can adjust the angle... but the car has to be programmed at the dealer to open this up... I had mine coded and it works like this:
Place the mirror control in the right side position, put in reverse and adjust where you want the mirror to be when in reverse... then place mirror control in the left side position. Now the mirror will dip to your set position. This will not work if your car is not coded for this. |

Interesting feature, the ability to code the stopping position.
I wonder if it can be coded at home as a DIY? - Where to find INPA, EDIABAS, NCS Expert, DIS, EasyDIS, Progman, & other BMW factory & dealer programming, coding, and diagnostic tools (1)

I'm not sure if they're cheaper or not but I paid $575 for 4 Toyo extensa hps w/ installation.

The value is MEMORY_SPIEGELABKLAPPEN located in the BTM module for the E46.
