Old thread, but still useful. 325i, GM, 103K now, works well, ATF changed at around 89K, 8072B oil used, next change soon with dexron VI.

Year 2001, not sure if it's been changed before just bought the car a week ago then few days later it went. Pan had a few big chunks in it.

My old 2001 330Ci Step had the TC slip issue at around 107k :/ hopefully my 03 fares better.

Did fluid change, 130000 miles, to solve slight variation in tach reading while cruising. Still running strong. Was obviously over due for new fluid.

Has not failed @ 143500 and after 2 auto tranny fluid changes shifts as smooth as butter. I also spend most of my time in M mode rowing through the gears.

E46 2001 XIT (Sportswagon) has 265k miles and no issues with automatic transmission. Transmission fluid changed every 60k.

Thumbs up 2003 bmw 325xi - automatic (triptronic)

my car has so far 126Kmiles on it and drives perfect.
no problem at all with the transmission.
