ZHP - Six Years On
Still a great ride. I just had the snows put on, oil changed and everything gone over. No surprises and not much to report. It's just a great car, still fun and I still look forward to driving it whenever I have the opportunity.
I'm at a tick over 40k in the odometer. I've had to replace the Pilots (summer of '11) and have had routine servicing (splitting the oil intervals in half). I've never done a "cost to own" chart or anything like that, but thus far, it's certainly been good value for all the fun it returns. I have some convertible concerns - I'm waiting for the day when the power top fails, or when I'll need a new canvas top. I still don't like the sideways dance the rear-view mirror makes. Aside from that, the seats are terrific, the driving position perfect, steering, brakes, shifter all play nice together. Mileage is good too, 24 mpg average. Right now, my biggest concern is figuring out how to move a 76 key electronic keyboard and an amp (amp will fit in the trunk) as I may be gigging soon. It looks like the back seat will be the best bet - summertime, top goes down, so no problem there Here she is at Compo Beach in Westport CT yesterday ... just driving around for fun. ![]() BMW by shrp11, on Flickr
