I bought s 2013 328xi Imperial Blue, Sport Package, Premium Package, Technology Package with Heated Seats, MSRP $49,145. The BMW config site shows an invoice for this configuration of $45,370. My dealer priced this at $45.965 ($595 over invoice). I had applied a $1,000 certificate aquired from BMW summer Olympic Drive Event which put the cost to me at $44,965 ($405 under invoice). My goal was to have my car cost under $45K before tax and fees.

I ordered car October 13 and took delivery November 24, exactly 35 days, incredible! The car is everything I have expected and more. I have driven 900 miles and finally ready to add my third tank of fuel, wow I believe the goal is to be around $500-$1,000 over invoice.

Op, be sure to follow up with how your shopping at Baron went. It's a great place for service but i have never been impressed with their sales. They have never shown much willingness to negotiate in the past. Only shop in town type of thing I guess. Anyways, good luck and let us know how you did!

I was not impressed. I made an appointment with my salesman, I arrived and he was with a client. No big deal, he asked me to come back in an hour. I came back and he the. Bad to deliver a car so he passed me on to another salesman. The lady didn't know much about the car and made a huge deal out of me wanting to drive both a 328i and 335i.

I know now what I want in the BMW, but I think I will take a day trip down to Springfield or something to see if I can get a little better service.

Sorry to hear that their sales experience has not improved...no surprise though.

Regardless of where you end up buying, I do have say that you can at least service your car with Baron with confidence. I have had nothing but top notch service there and they have recently made some improvements to the waiting area etc.

I believe I paid about $900 over invoice, but got black M grills thrown in for free.

It was hard to get much negotiating traction when the dealer had none on the lot and every allocation spoken for with custom orders.

Mine was custom order as well and I had go back and forth quite a bit but managed to get them down to $85 over. Free grills probably makes up most of your $900 anyway. Congrats!

When you pick up the car, make sure seat frames are rust free. Look under both front seats. Many F30 owners are reporting rusty seat frames on the brand new delivery!

The MSPRP is $56,470 & Invoice $52,080. I ended up paying $51,909 before incentives. That is after adding Wheel Locks and Black Grill.

All I know for now is $1000 holiday cash, $750 loyalty, and $300 for Ultimate BMW App for 3 series. Where does the extra $1000 come from?

My extra $1000 came from USAA. But you have to be a member (military and family only) to get it.

Would it be a bad idea to simply approach a dealer with the pricing from bmwconfig.com and flat out state "you have my business for $500 over invoice/wholesale out the door?" If it's a bad idea, why? I'm thinking it's a quick way for the dealership to make a sale with minimal effort...

It's a fine plan. Are you planning to do a performance center delivery pickup after ED or do you want your car delivered to your local dealer? If you do PCD, you can order from any dealer in the country. That's what I did, I shopped around nationally and found someone willing to give me great service at a great price.

If you go with this approach, you should convey (beforehand) to the dealer that you are ready to buy that day, if they agree to your offer.

Getting it below invoice is easy, by adding in all of the incentives available.
