E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

Oil pan replacement ?
Anyone replace oil pan on 325e? Looking for tips from someone that's been there. Thought just support engine a few inches high after disconnecting drive shaft and manifold. Better ideas anyone.

You really should get a Bentley manual.
Here's the relevant parts for your project:

For a small lift (up to say, 3") no need to disconnect anything, IF you are careful

The trick is getting the oil pump out so you can then pull the pan. You're going to have some "head scratching, how the crap do I do that?" moments. Putting the pump back when you're buttoning it up is fun, too.

I found the easiest thing was to use an engine support bar to hold the engine up and drop the subframe crossbar completely out of the way

I think your only job it s to jack up the car and star unbolting the screws from your oil pan bro.
