335d: DTUK CRD-T Vs. JBD box?

Here's a picture of my removed egr valve, this is aprox 100,000 miles old :





It's done 30,000 miles on what ever fuel, I don't know, and 70,000 miles on 98% v-wer diesel and 2% BP ultimate diesel
It's also been running my DTUK CRD-T tuning box at 340bhp and 510lbs ft.
Very mixed driving, town, distance, high speed, town speed.....and I've had zero issues.

Tom - Your EGR valve does not look to bad all things considering.

Chris, I agree.....it's very minimal carbon build up

I'm mere than pleased eight he results of removing it though, my cars low down ight throttle is a lot stronger.
It's also nice or have the piece of mind that I'm not contributing to the build up of crap inside my engine, especially at nearly 100.000 miles.

When ever I see the title of this thread my mind reads it as
Duck Turd vs JBD.

So can we use the EGR bypass on US spec?

Going on the information on the picture of the EPC posted above, the kit I have fitted isn't compatible as a straight plug and play kit

You need to have the car mapped to suit, removing the egr mapping within the ecu

If you remove the EGR, it will increase the exhaust gas temp & possible DPF removal needed...if you remove DPF, then you will also need to remove Bluetec injection. It will require a car tested remap on North America Canada & US Spec cars.

Hi, I just had two questions regarding these mods, Does chip tuning with these modules affect the reliability of the engine? and if your car is still under warranty, can you just remove the chip and plug in the original to keep the warranty in tact for service?

Yes, with the tuning boxes you can simply unplug them before your visit to the dealer and they're non the wiser

Thus, shouldn't effect your warranty

I have used a CRD-T on my E90 320D for about a year with no obvious issues. I will be getting a 335D tomorrow (UK spec) and i only need to purchase the wiring loom, software is free!

Just wondering about warranty, shouldn't we make sure we read and delete any error codes as well as removing the box?

Lenny have you been able to get someone to go and have it done @ RENNtech? BTW I will be in Orlando Monday picking up the WAGNER IC
