G5 is the new circuit board that is now standard in the JB4. It has more processor speed & memory than the G4 or original board. ISO is a beta system that is being tested that divorces boost control from the stock ECU.
FMIC = Front Mounted Inter Cooler. I have replaced the stock unit for a higher capacity one. I got the JB4 because it best suited what I wanted to do, has the largest user base & IMHO has the best product support.

I will have to go on my "car" laptop & pull down a log file. IIRC the pressure differential in/out is minimal & about average for aftermarket FMIC's. The temp delta on 1/4 mile runs against a base line is significant as well as on the street in normal driving. The logs in CSV format (excel) which I posted on N54tech.com show ambient & outlet temps by time & RPM.
There are a number of units with higher capacity but with my intended horsepower gain & desire to fit the cooler without cutting the shrouds or removing the bumper the ETS 5" unit was the best compromise. Install took me about an hour. EDIT: Delta at the end of the run was 32 degrees.

No but that could be the function of the JB4 which has lag adjustments in its software. It hits very hard if you punch it, biggest issue is traction. The FMIC might not be the best plan for a pure stock 335i but might be good for a stock 335is because of its higher boost levels.

Sorry guys, totol newb here, and this thread is ginormous!
What are the significant differances between the 335 in standar trim, 335is m sport, and the m3? We just picked up a 335is m sport and were wondering what we really got? Is this the middle ground car the fine line between track and street, or just a gimmick? Thanks very much, sorry for the question, im sure its been covered, i just need a synapses Jason |

M3 has a much better suspension and a naturally aspirated V8; loves >4k rpm. "What's that mean?" you say. Well, M3 feels and is vastly more competent on the road. Thus, premium price. Very rewarding on country roads or any time the suspension is asked to do something. 335i[s] can be modded to go faster than M3; can easily be fitted with M3 suspension parts - it's the same core really - just R&R w/M + 3rd party parts. Most are inhibited by the down time + expense of that. Down low, 335i[s] can out-pull M3, yielding a bigger smile. Modded that only gets better. Your thoughts? . There have been several in-depth discussions in this thread and in this forum in the past. Do a forum search about the 335is or Google it to find articles that describe the 335is in detail.

Thoughts, hmmm. Well, i wasnt aware that the M was a n/a platform, so right there im glad we got the 335is. The car we got is an "M sport" package, it felt significantly better than a standard 335, it says M on the door sills, steering wheel, and has staggered 19"M wheels, so i "believe" this car has M suspension already? I dont know fer sure though, is there any identifying visual cues the m suspension has that could help me to identify which suspension package the car has? The car also has a black grille, mirrors and dual exhaust tips, the black looks sweet with the alpine white! Thanks again for the help! I will try to post some pics later today, proof 'n'all for y'all.... Jason Last edited by bmwinning; 03-10-2013 at 02:10 PM. |

Ok, the white car seen through the drivers window of the in car cam was a turbo 135 with meth, and what ecaxtly was the car with the in cab cam, a supercharged m3???
Wouldn't suprise me, modern turbos and tuning are beyond imperssive, not the turbo tech from yesteryear, fer sure, not that supercharger design hasn't come a long way too, i just like turbo chargers |
