Dead battery; all doors, trunked locked; key will not open doors/trunk
2007 530 was parked for over 1 year.
1. Battery is completely dead. Buying new one from dealer. 2. Key will not open trunk or doors on car. Apparently, the locks are electronic, and absolutely no juice in battery. Questions: A. Any suggestions on opening doors since batt is deader than a door nail. B. I guess I can jack up car and put jumper cables on starter and on ground connection. C. Any other suggestions? D. Not sure that AAA type of help/towing can assist. |

Had this happen with the trunk in my 09 535. Assuming they're the same. Insert your key in the trunk turn counter clockwise hard to point where you think your key will break. Have some push down on trunk and push trunk button to open. Worked for me, hopefully it will for you as well.

Are you saying the blade key (manually unlocking) doesn't work when tried on the door lock?

Yes, sir. Blade keys will not open doors or trunk if battery is dead. The locks are electronically activated even when using a blade key.

Resolved problem:
1. Door and trunk locks are electromechanical. They do need electricity to work. 2. Battery pack on hot and cold wires under hood gave enough electricity allow keys to work. 3. Dealer told me I might have to use a screw driver to open hood latch thru grill. Then I could open hood to get to hot and cold terminals. Thanks for your suggestions.
