key lock system

Hi,

I am facing a problem with key lock system “ for X5 2003 “. As my new key can’t be programmed to open door and back door using key buttons in the key.

I had to replace some parts of key control system “ part located under steering wheel, and part located in the a box top left of the engine “. My car is European standard, and two new used parts are
US standard, as they have been removed from a used car.

Even it is not possible to program old key just to be used to open doo remotely and open back door.

Really I appreciate any help regarding above.

What RF (radio frequency) is your new key or parts? You mention something about parts coming from a US vehicle...if so...the US BMWs communicate over the 315 MHz RF signal...whereas European BMWs use the 413 MHz RF signal.

Thanks for your reply.

I am not sure about RF, but i think it is 315 MHz, as new parts are taken from US BMW car.

Which parts in the car affects operations for buttons on the car key? as I did not change all parts related to key lock system.

FZV & DWA (central locking/anti-theft alarm siren systems) Info

The remote keys contain 3 different technologies (EWS/FZV/DWA) which work in conjunction with each other. The problems you describe sounds like you're having issues with FZV & DWA.
