My M3 pushes about 375whp but I've been toying with my 3 and thinking of getting a supercharger. But idk. I love my 3. Yeah and that's crazy fast for a non-m. Nice video lol

RWD is not that bad in winter. In fact I like it better than FWD, much predictable. But the issue is ground clearance, if the snow is touching the side skirts, you're bound to get stuck.

I would definitely see ground clearance becoming a problem in these in snow lol.

I'm not a fan of the black wheels, it's a sedan not a rally car.

Sure Rover, I'd be delighted to share. Foremost, these pics were taken downtown in the shadow of some very tall buildings with about 2 hours of sunlight left in the day. The machinery used: Canon EOS T2i (550d in Europe) and Canon EF50mm f1.8. The lighting was all natural. All camera controls set to manual (except focus). Aperture was set at f/2.8 for all shots. Shutter speed and ISO fluctuated as needed for all shots. In Lightroom I applied sharpening for landscapes, auto adjusted for white balance and exposure, added punch, and added a medium contrast boost. Minor sharpening for the web was automatically done when I converted the file from RAW to jpeg. Sounds like a lot, but its really just a few clicks of the mouse. The 50mm lens plays a large part in getting the pics so sharp - being a prime (single focal length) it can be set up by Canon during manufacture to look a certain way and have very nice sharpness when stopped down (f/2.8) just a bit, yet still have a decent background blur. The lens and camera are by no means expensive, but they do make lovely pics when combined.
Hope this helps. |

Thank you you made perfect sense. I use Lightroom and I love using prime lenses too. Super low F-stop can be hard to get things in focus. You found a great F2.8 setting so that the rear of the subject blurred ever so lightly.

Excellent. And totally agreed about the low f-stop, I have to manual focus in some situations when I'm at 1.8 on that 50mm.
You are at a bit of a disadvantage, in your particular situation though - that black finish plays heck with the camera's meter while simultaneously reflecting everything but the flash you point at it...unless, of course that's exactly what you don't want to have happen. |

Yes...I was running F1.7 in my previous pic. I wanted to highlight the water droplets and snow on the rear upper quarter panel/trunk. But funny enough another one I took at 1.7 came out decent. I guess everything was within the depth of field so it all cleared up! Since I'm running a M4/3 camera, my full frame F-stop I believe is equivalent to 3.4 but the light that is allowed in is the same.
It was time to change to winter tires....yes I waited a little close but just made it home before it got too nasty...LOL
