Auto Door Lock when moving forward

Does anyone know how to reprogram this auto door lock option? It locks all doors when moving forward from start up and does not unlock when you return the shifter to park. I have to punch the door lock button or use the door handle to open my door.

Yes, take it to a dealer or buy the programming software and do it yourself.

If you want auto unlock when shifter is moved to PARK...you need to purchase a GM product.

Sounds like your X5 is working as designed. BMWs (of our generation) do not auto UNLOCK. You have to use the central lock/unlock button on the center console, or pull twice on the door handle.

See info below about auto lock at 5 MPH (I think BMW changed it to 7.5 MPH sometime after 2003 model year)...again, there's no auto UNLOCK. Car & key memory options have to be programmed thru BMW DIS/GT=1 or can be done if you've purchased aftermarket hardware/software:
