Yeah this is definitely a total, even if it is a few thousand short of a total now, this looks like it'll definitely go there if even the slightest underestimated damage is found. And if this is the shop first big BMW X3 project, the likelihood that it'll be assembled back perfectly is.. well.. tough..

Has the client ever gotten an estimate from other places? Not sure if there's a BMW collision center in the state they went to. Apart from labor hours, just parts are expensive. A lot of BMW parts that normally could be reused needs to be replaced after disassembly on these and car will require ton of programming hours.
