Engine Removal Lift Points
Hello everyone, I am currently in the process of taking the engine out of my 2001 325ci. The only thing I am stuck on is the lift points where to take it from? Anyone have any suggestions.
Once i get that information i am ready to yank it out. Please and thank you! |

Probably late to the party, but there is a hook right above your tstat next to the intake VANOS solenoid and another one in the back of the engine. Just run a straight edge from the front mounting point to the firewall and look down behind there, it is in line with the front hook point.

I'm sure it is.
If the OP, who needs it so they'll already be there, would be kind enough to snap a photo of the rear hook, I'll be glad to add it to the thread on all parts of the M54 engine. That way the OP can pay it forward and we can have the answer ready for the next person who inevitably needs the information.

A picture of the rear hook would be perfect. See also: - Lifting engine without special bracket and trasmission angle? Here's a red circle around where the rear hook must be, based on the descriptions above.

I found the lift point in the back!! You have to take off the strip on the bottom of the windshield and wiper blades to get a better look down there and much easier to get to the other bell housing bolts. But here is the picture of it I will get another one up soon
