I thought I wouldn't like the "iPad in the dash" either. But after getting the car, I do like it better than the E90 and E46 screens.

BTW my buddy was telling me that one of the upscale Hyundais comes with a real iPad as an owner's manual.

That's the Hyundai top of the line, Equus. The same for the new Cadillac SRX. Both are nice full sized autos with impressive interiors.

E90 people are just looking for a reason to dislike the F30's improved interior.

The reality is that the screen does its job while taking up less physical space, thus making visibility better through the windshield.

I am driving a used car that I bought recently. I am waiting for delivery of my F30.

Some E90 or even earlier models bought their cars new and have cared for the car very well. Some probably will keep the car 15-20 years. I respect an owner who carefully maintains their 10-20 year old daily driver and keeps it in good condition than some new car owner that trashes their car. Whoever gets my used cars gets a better car than a CPO car.

The salesman who sold me my first new car told me, in jest, that mistreating a car is not much different than mistreating a horse. After all, the car is the modern day equivalent of a horse.

I part I really miss about just trading in my 12 yr-old 740iL used car is the last 8 years of NO "easy monthly payments..."

So with this 2 week old 2013 E93 convertible, I really don't mind being called "used car" owner if I don't have to pay the "easy monthly payments..."

How would he know? Doesn't exactly say "user X is ignoring you"

If you want to delete all the presets from the memory keys 1-8 Press and hold key 1 and 8 together for 5 seconds. I drive will ask for conformation to reset all memory keys. Good luck

I was only using them for radio, now can have shortcuts to phone, nav also. No access to CD tho...

5) Presets
6) Tone
7) Split Screen
8) [open]

I wanted to make #8 a shortcut to enabling Bluetooth Audio, because I frequently plug the iPhone into the USB cable, but I can't even get close to Bluetooth with a shortcut.

The 1-8 shortcut keys are one of the best things about the F30, I use those buttons more than anything else in the car.

I'm the only unoriginal one here w/ 1-8 all as FM and Sat Radio Presets LOL. Tho its more a force of habit since that's what those buttons did in my old car

Speaking of work, I'm a information security professional, and I couldn't help but notice that number of people who have programed one of their shortcuts to "nav home". I would strongly advise against that and here's why.

Imagine your out to dinner and your car gets stolen. The thief knows you're not home, and all they have to do is get the nav system to point itself "home". Once they get "home", I image all it's going to take is a simple button press to get your garage door open. Now how many people lock the door between the house and garage? Even if you do, it's a semi-forceful kick to bust it open.

You're stranded, your car is gone and your house (and anyone in it) is being trashed by a thief.

Instead, I'd suggest you program "home" as a nearby cross-street. If you can't figure out your way from there then you have bigger problems.
