How to replace foglights?

On the passenger side I have a cracked foglight. I'm told it's not covered under warranty and they want to charge me $300 to fix it. As far as I'm aware I can't just buy the foglight plastic cap by tself for .50 cents and instead I need to buy the whole foglight assembly. Is this the one I would be looking for? The price for that is $130, so even if I pay that somewhat ridiculous price for a foglight, can anybody tell me how to install it? I know there is a black plastic tip and what appears to be a hexagon type screw in the back, but regardless I haven't been able to find any tutorials or videos of somebody removing the foglight

MB C300 (I currently own) is susceptable to broken fog lamp lenses, I think partly because they are mounted so low, although that's not the case with the X3. Anyway, on one of their forums I found several people using this product (by Lamin-X) and decided to try it.

I've had good luck with it so far and it's simple to install. They sell headlamp protection too but I haven't done that. There are also some competing brands (e.g. Xpel) but they did not sell separate fog lamp protection.

Thanks, that however looks like a sticker you put over the foglight to prevent it from cracks in the future. I'd like to replace the cracked plastic piece on it before I consider getting a film to prevent it from future cracks.

Understood. It's just meant as a reference to consider after you replace the cracked one.
