E36 door actuator
Hi to all, hope everyone had a nice Christmas and all the best for 2013. My name is Peter and I live Melborne, Australia. I recently bought a BMW 318is and am having a problem with the passenger door actuator ( left hand side in Oz) I have taken the actuator out but am not sure how it works through the central locking system as it does not seem to have any wiring attached, It did work when I first got the car but has since given up the ghost and even though it may have to be a new unit i would still know how it works. This is my first post on this site and hopefully someone out there may have encountered the problem before. Cheers and all the best to everyone for the New Year, Peter

There should be a wiring harness that runs along the inside edge of the door right below the window seal and then down to the latch mechanism. There's a connector off that harness that plugs into the actuator There are some photos here in this DIY.
