Original key/new spare key programming issues
So I ordered a new key that needed to be programmed. I took the new key to the local bmw dealer and the service guy just got in, turned the car on and off, pressed the buttons in a specific order and turned the car back on. The key was then programmed, he checked it and all the buttons responded so i drove off with the new spare in the ignition.
I got home, and the original key no longer works. What happened? why can't both of them be programmed at the same time? Can i fix this myself? It really didnt seem complicated, I just dont know the order by which he pressed the buttons. I really don't want to go back to the dealer. Oh and this is a 2006 x3. help?! thanks! |

Same thing happend to me. Had to do initialization procedure again by myself. It should be somewhere in the sticky threads.

same thing happened here.
For those needing the Initialization instructions, here is the stick: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=457330 I'll try it out this weekend to see if it resolves my issue. |
