new motor mixing oil/water

hi over the last 3 months i have done a total rebuild of the engine (535i) and cost me over R12000 and on 1st start a light blue smoke came from the exhaust and 10min in it was warm enuf to do the aditional head bolts 32 degrees torq, upon taking off the rocker cover i discoverd water there, dipstick has cream on and letting the oil out it was al mayonaise. my frien conected the throttle cable on the wrong hole and when it started (1st start) it revved to about 5000rpm i think and swithed off immediately. some help on checs to do 1st before i take the head off again as i went bought a new head gasket 2 oil filters and 10L of oil id apriciate thanx alot edward 34 535iM

Oops. Head off and check for warp and damage. Sump off if contamination is bad enough. Oil and coolant change. CLEAN OUT the head bold holes and then CLEAN OUT THE HEAD BOLT HOLES. I guess you may have been torquing down on debris in the bottom of the holes. Check each bolt can be finger turned down lower than the head is thick. A trap for young players. Been there - got caught.

I've just changed my wiper blades and now my reverse lights don't work. Should I change my fuel pump relay?
