35W or 55W Ballasts?

I have been trying to solve a ongoing light problem and I do not know if my car's HID lights are stock or aftermarket. I also do not know if they are 35w or 55w? Does it matter? Is one way better? How do I find out I just popped the hood trying to find something that says 35 or 55w but didn't see anything..and its 10 degrees out...How do I know hat bulb?

You have to post pics. I can tell you exactly what you if when you do.

I would not run 55 watt ballasts for the low beams since it hits the LCM harder and can cause it to fail or cause more electrical issues. If you have aftermarket lights they are most likely H7 rebased HID bulbs.
