I've got one in my spare tire well... Only to be used in emergencies. They really are death traps.

I don't have one at all. But figure in an emergency I should have one or wait 45+ minutes for AAA.

Yeah, I was wondering why you thought it was so cheap before. Plus, dealing with the transaxle and all that junk up there is not fun.

i know that ive asked a few people already on facebook... but this is whats going on with the camry. anyone else have any opinions?
its hard to explain..
this is what they mech said.
it stopped running while it was driving
it has very low oil reading on the dipstick
it was dropping oil fast
It will not crank at all.
if the motor is at TDC for instance and you turn it back to say 180* the car will crank till your at TDC again and stop.
where its stopped its locked. wont go any farther.

Dropped a valve. It's hitting a piston. You've got major problems.

And Ryan, isn't that one version of a Face Eraser?

That I do not know
Its from a very popular movie series...

GF might be buying a 2002 Mini Cooper S, 102k miles, 6 speed, lots of receipts for previous work, (AC work under warranty, brakes, oil, etc..), for $7900 with an extra set of wheels w/snow tires, and some aftermarket black and carbon fiber trim pieces

the camry is a v6?? or 4cyl??

it sounds like it's hitting something, but if it is an auto, you may want to check the tq convertor bolts aren't hitting.

pull the vc off and see what it looks like under there, too.

you could also try draining the oil in the crankcase and see if there are any metal particles in it. if so, then yeah, look for a motor.

the 'good' thing about a fwd is the whole subframe can be dropped (or, in the case of a backyarder, jacked up and off) as a whole. *much* easier to do with a lift, but possible....
