I'm not sure if it will get to the dealer by Monday, even though it's only 90 mins from the port. But next week sometime for sure, right?

I can't wait. I ordered the mineral grey metallic xDrive28i with sport line and most packages. The site says "Finishing Touches" now. Hoping that means SOON.

Well mine is the Xline,, with most packages too. Yea, I like it a lot. I really like the unlock/lock door handles. As long as you have the key on you, you just touch the door handle and it will lock or unlock. I don't know why, but I love that feature. It's cool Oh well, good luck, I hope you get it reAlly soon!! |

I can relate to the anticipation! I'm waiting for mine too... even have the same color, Mineral Gray. If I am lucky, the dealer will call me today and tell me I can take it home... wouldn't that be an awesome Xmas!

Were you on the Don Juan also?
My dealership is closed today, but I was told the port is open. Was told it might arrive Wednesday morning, or soon thereafter. Was hopeful it would come today. I will definitely post pics! |

To be honest, I have no idea which boat(s) mine was on. By pure coincidence, the dealer happened to have en route, the exact car I had built and spec'd out on the BMW website, so that really cut down on the wait time; I made the deal on it only last week! From the sounds of things, it SHOULD have arrived at port yesterday (In my case, port = Anchorage, Alaska). If that is true, the dealer says they could have it ready today, but I have not talked to them since last Friday. I hope things are moving along according to that schedule.
I figure at some point, my X1 barged from Germany to Oxnard, CA... which is apparently BMW's distribution hub for the West Coast. It then likely transferred to a northbound barge which may or may not have stopped at who knows how many places along the west coast on its way to Alaska. If the barge did not make it into port Sunday, then I guess the next arrival is Wednesday. Here's hoping! |

I believe "Finishing Touches" means the car is already at the dealership for detailing. Sounds like you should have it this week!

My X1 is on the ship Florida Highway ETA 2359 UTC Brunswick GA (7pm EST 12/26) I'm so excited it looks like it will arrive in Florida before I do. I depart Anchorage on the 4th and arrive in Florida on the 5th at 6:30am. I plan on going to my house unpacking and then heading to the dealership to pick her up.
![]() Woohoo! What a way to start retirement. |

Well it looks like my dealer has no idea when mine will be in. First they said "tomorrow", so I came back tomorrow and then they said "after the weekend, on Monday." Came back Monday (24th) and they now say "next Monday".
![]() They don't even know where the car is, for that matter. Is it still on a boat? Is it sitting in the Port of Anchorage, 5 miles away from here? They don't know. Christmas didn't go as I had hoped, but maybe I'll have a pleasant New Years! I guess it's really not all bad; I don't even have a spot in my garage for the X1 yet; I've got another car in there half disassembled for a winter project. My X1's parking spot contains tires, bumpers, fender liners, trim pieces and other junk... Suppose I should clean all that up this week.

high. I bet it's a lot more exciting waiting the actual delivery of a new vehicle then getting in it at the dealership and driving it home. Mine was just what I wanted straight out of the showroom. That was fun, who knows how long it would have been if I placed the order. I always think the dealer would give a sooner date just to get the sale. Oh we'll, spend sometime clearing/cleaning your new X1's home, so it will be happy when it arrives. Nothing like a new BIMMER in a nice crisp clean uncluttered garage. Have fun when it finally arrives. A |

Mine's STILL not here! Hoping for a New Year's present?
Dealership told me on 12/26 that it was expected by 12/28. |

I feel your pain!
My dealership gave me incorrect dates on two occasions, each time I got my hopes up and then each time the date came... there was no car. But on the third go, they told me "one more week from today". This was Monday the 24th... then on the 26th, they called and said the car was on their lot, five days earlier than I had just talked myself into being patient for. I took it home the next day. So, maybe you'll get lucky like that too? I hope you get yours soon! |

You will love it when it comes - definitely worth the wait! I bought mine from my dealer's stock about three weeks ago and I am wild about it. Went from a 2011 535i to a 2012 335i to the Alpine White X135i with the MSport Line. I look forward to driving the X1 every day.
I have been wanting a small SUV, but the X3 was bigger than I wanted or needed - my husband already has a Chevy Tahoe. The X1 is just perfect - especially with the sport suspension. The 335 did not have the sport package, and I really missed it. I have read other posts in other threads where people thought the X1 interior was not as nice as the 3 or 5 sedan. I do not find that to be the case at all. It is just as nice as the other BMWs I have had, and I have had more than I care to admit. My husband even likes driving it, and he also drives a Corvette Z06, so there you go! Hope your X1 arrives soon - happy driving! |
