I still do, there is nothing I enjoy more than sending and receiving hand written letters. When my husband was away I wrote him a letter almost every week. I missed one week, but he still has them all
email and pre printed cards just don't do it for me.

The term "a man of texts/e-mails" doesn't have the same cachet as "a man of letters".
When you read letters to and from a historical figure, they tell you quite a lot about that individual and the times in which they lived. Somehow, reading a collection of "tweets" and e-mails doesn't seem very compelling. "I used to write, I used to write letters, I used to sign my name. I used to sleep at night, before the flashing light settled deep in my brain. So I never wrote a letter, I never took my true heart and wrote it down. So when the lights cut out, I was lost standing in the wilderness downtown. Now our lives are changing fast, hope that something pure can last. It may seem strange, how we used to wait for letters to arrive. But what's stranger still, is how something so small can keep you alive. We used to wait." We Used to Wait Arcade Fire jummo

There seems to be a lot of letter writers on here. What if we did some kind of pen pal thingie?

Are you kidding me? Writing and sending Christmas cards to my 2050 facebook friends?
I kept a lot of handwritten letters I received from friends in the '70s in boxes, but now, I keep personal emails in an "old folder". I take advantage of my computer.

The only handwriting thing I get my wife, is her shopping list. Nothing else, the rest are either text messages or phone calls. But I found her handwriting hard to read sometimes.

back in my day we told them in person, not through hand-written letters ...
just making a devil's advocate point here

Seriously. Almost a decade old. I don't even remember who I was when I originally responded.
