Rookie here needs help initiate coding. My car is a 2011 535i and I have the ENET cable and ESYS SOFTWARE PsdZdata 46.3 installed on a laptop with 64bit Win7. Plugged the cable to laptop, turned ignition on and laptop able to confirm communication with car. But when I open E-Sys and click connect tab, window opens but the "target" window is blank. Anyone with suggestion on what I should do next? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

It looks you have not plugged the psdz data correctly into ESys.

More than likely the "dist" are folders missing from your installation. The folders should be empty, but they need to be there.

So, make sure that there is a "Dist" folder in each of the Chassis (F01/F10/F25) folders etc.:
e.g. "C:\ESysData\psdzdata\mainseries\F010\F010_12_03_51 1\odx\dist":



Also, make sure E-Sys Data Path is set properly.

Go into E-Sys = > OPTIONS => SETTINGS => PROGRAM TAB => DIRECTORIES and set the PSDZdata path to to C:\ESysData:

Finally got ESys and all required PSDZ data installed in the correct folders . Initiated software and was able to recognize car without any error messages. Will try coding tomorrow and post my results. Special thanks to shawnsheridan and April1 for the expertise and guidance!

I'm new to my 528xi, to this entire great forum, and to this thread in particular But I'd really love to be able to do some mods to my car; being no good at the torrent (or similar) "data gathering" thing, I'm taking the liberty to openly ask some good soul here for a PM on how I can get all the software I need for programming.

Also new to this whole scene- Basically wanting to get hold of the software capable of programming my e90 318i (2008 model)

Any help would be appreciated (oh and if you know a good place to get a suitable cable, that would be great!) Bearing in mind I live in NZ, so someone who ships internationally would be good

So thanks to a couple of good people here I have finally downloaded all the software needed - thank you guys!

Wanted to install, but have a dilemma due to my Precision laptop having extremely tight space on the system drive C:\ (SSD mini-card, just 128GB). I do have plenty of space on my drive D:\, which is a 2x 750GB RAID - but noticed in the installation notes that the system drive C:\ should be used...

Is it really so important? Will I risk the installation not functioning properly if I put it on D:\?

I would install E-Sys on C:\, which is pretty small, and the make D:\ESysData my data directory, and put my PSdZData there.

Sounds good, Shawn - but won't the E-Sys ever grow?

The PSdZData grows, but E-Sys is fairly constant.

Here are the actual E-Sys installed sizes from various versions on my Hard Drive:

3.18.4 = 206 Mb
3.20.0 = 129 Mb
3.22.4 = 138 Mb
3.22.5 = 137 Mb

That cable is looking a little more expensive than I was hoping when you factor in shipping to NZ (unfortunately we get stung quite a bit).

Any chance that this would fit the bill? The specs look mostly the same..

Yes, that is also K+DCAN Cable. In theory it should be fine, but I have no idea on the build quality.

I am new to this coding business and would like to get all the current software can some help me out?
